SABAN
South Australian Business Ambassadors are prominent and respected business people, academics, public servants and community leaders invited by the Premier of South Australia to be Business Ambassadors for the State of South Australia. They live or frequently travel interstate or overseas and have significant business contacts outside South Australia. South Australian Business Ambassadors retain strong ties to South Australia. They are confident in the future of the State and willing to promote South Australia as a great place to live, visit, work, invest and do business. | |
| Together, Business Ambassadors form the South Australian Business Ambassadors Network (SABAN). This network is connected by SABAN Central; the liaison point in what is more accurately expressed as a "network of networks". | |
Identify Opportunities
SABAN Central works with Business Ambassadors; helping to make the most of opportunities that arise in each Business Ambassador's own spheres of influence.
South Australian Business Ambassadors identify - or in other ways contribute to - opportunities that are of benefit to South Australia. Key areas of focus are business migration, inward tourism, attracting talent to South Australia, establishing and expanding South Australian businesses, importing, exporting and bilateral trade.
The opportunities can range from encouraging people to visit South Australia to facilitating business migration, from supporting the case for a company to make its Asia-Pacific Headquarters in South Australia to assisting South Australian companies break into international markets.
The opportunities are many and South Australia's Business Ambassadors can and do make a significant contribution to the economic development of the State.
Business Ambassadors contribute to South Australia's economic development in many ways. In most instances, South Australian Business Ambassadors approach SABAN Central, providing the details needed for SABAN Central to follow up on an opportunity, or alternatively, refer their contact (or "Referral") to approach SABAN Central. SABAN Central then works with the Referral on the opportunity, with Government and the private sector as appropriate or relevant to each specific project.
Ongoing involvement by the Business Ambassador may or may not occur according to their own wishes, but they do remain briefed on progress and final outcomes. Other Business Ambassadors may become involved in specific projects by way of offering expertise or counsel.
SABANnews
SABAN distributes a monthly one-page newsletter to all Business Ambassadors located both in Australia and around the globe. Additionally, SABANnews is sent to a further 600 world-wide recipients.
SABANnews focuses on good news stories from around the state.
SABAN sponsorship
The South Australian Business Ambassadors Network has the unique opportunity, not available to Government programmes, to raise private sector sponsorship dollars through its association with Business SA, offering a significant opportunity to leverage Government funding through private sector support. If you would like to know more about Sponsorship opportunities, please contact the SABAN Program Director: Hillary Hurrell, tel: +61 8 8300 0169 or email: hillaryh@business-sa.com
