ExpatriateConnect (EC) offers an on-line matching facility that connects Australians with global market experience to Australian companies seeking international business insights, to accelerate their export outcomes. EC is an initiative of the Australian Institute of Commercialisation (AIC), a non-profit leader in commercialisation education, the Southern Cross Group, a global organisation supporting Australians abroad and ALBA National.

During marketing testing in 2005, EC identified a national interest by companies looking for market experienced resources that could help companies with export planning and immediate questions that complemented offering by state and Commonwealth organisations. EC has attracted global interest from Australians with overseas experience who have demonstrated a willingness to coach, mentor and assist their Australian colleagues.

Both individuals and companies agree that a key success factor in breaking into overseas markets, is swiftly understanding one's market, which we repeatedly see achieved through the sharing of know-how and first-hand experience from market 'insiders' and those on the ground.
